I've enabled uploading of custom avatars.

Go to your userprofile following the link on top of the site called "Profile" and load it up.

64*64 pixel, up to 3k smaller size preferred - not animated (distracts the eye from reading - imagine 20 flashing avatars in view...)

That doesn't solve the main issue atm as images (internal or external) increase the size of the htm/php pages becasue of code inclusion and hense the amount of bandwidth.

I think it might be cool to allow people who have a certain amount of tutorials under they're belt a custom avatar. Or maybe BNA! could award them to persons who exibit special traits (Such as having a very popular topic, making a particularly nice looking map, etc.)?

I'm not fond of special case treatment.
Not only is it barely to handle for me, but every move I make would trigger a flood of "why... and not me...." messages.

Avatars will be back for everyone - for the time being make some maps and make me proud ;)

Personally I can't stand them. I just see nonsense images.( e.g. A child under 3 montsh blowing a bubble, the words "cock fight" with a stick figure drawing thrusting their waists at one another) If someone had decent stuff it might be fine. (Like scarface logo for BNA!(The world is yours))

Be creative. You also have your comment/signature you can have fun with.

And if you have some form of ingenuity you can make something in your location that can atleast make someone 'heh' at it.
