Some new screen-shoots, but I do not see much change in qualityhttp://www.vg247.com/2012/06/06/hell-is ... 3-screens/
TBH, I don't see any difference at all to PC vanilla maxed out....maybe some slight improvement in the lighting dep....but very very slight....that's all...
If you want to experience D3 HD version then play it with sikk mod maxed and tweaked together with monoxead and wulfen textures and some other cool little mods from the comunity to suit your taste......then you see the difference !
missed opportunity...id keeps disappoint me ...and I am sure not only me...
Agreed. I've combed over the screenshots (btw, who releases 800 x 450 pixel screenshots nowadays?) and there are no differences from the PC version. Polycounts are the same, texture resolution, still using shadow volumes, no ambient light, etc. It appears
they have tweaked the lighting equation, especially in this
screenshot. It may be using pow instead of the look-up texture of the original as the specular highlights look much sharper and more intense (think Humus' ATI mod from 2004). Of course, the resized shot plus whatever post processing image treatment vg24/7 did to them might be tampering with the highlights.
I can understand the texture resolution (which looks fine even now, easily as dense as Rage's static surfaces), even the models because they would require artist time away from DOOM/Rage 2 (?) however a programmer could easily and quickly add shadow buffers (brute force 4x and 16x jittered sampling - fixed bias, etc.) and maybe replace just a few textures which stood out quite a bit in 2004 (Vending machines, etc.) I'm sure id has higher resolution source art for these somewhere on their backup servers.
