Rage console and config tweaks

Hmm I thought it was about config tweaks not about megatexture limitations and whether there is an unfair persecution of those that dislike the tradeoffs involved

I am just sad the patch locked so many commands. That is what whining got us.

The first few months there's going to be support to be delivered. And since a lot of people are downright dumb they are going to try all these commands out whilst not having the faintest idea of what they can do to impact the game. Then when they wreck the game, they go online and bash the hell out of Rage, take up a lot of support time and whatnot only to find out that they screwed it up themselves. When idStudio is released, expect a fully working devmode with working console commands, until that time the game pretty much is what it is.

f12 is default right?

I know, but that is what I meant by "look what whining got us."

If there wasn't such a plethora of people whining when it is their own fault things are broken we would be allowed access to more options that have the potential to break things. Basically I am tired of uninformed whiners.

ok, seems to be correct. now i just need to know where the screenshots are saved to? they do not appear to just be written to memory for pasting into photoshop. and i cannot find a screenshot folder.

They show up in steam somewhere on your Rage section in the library.

This got me thinking.. what is everyone's opinion of the usefulness of config files now with the patch that adds a couple of video options? Especially configs that deal with "texture-popping"? I can't seem to get a completely satisfactory combination no matter what I try, but I do notice that the patched version runs about as good as the unpatched did with a lot of config tweaking.

Is there a way to regulate DoF or the DoF settings ?

I found this, but nothing change if I disguise the values.

DoF in Rage would be so cool ! I hope there is an way to use DoF, to makes it looks like the pictures !

I also remember them showing DOF when they previewed the game and engine back in 2007. Shame it saw very little use in the final game.

Pleas know anyone commands for free camera, time stop and third person view? Commands from old ID games not working. I want it only for screenshots.

Sorry for *triple Posting*

I tried DoF so many times, but no change in Game ! If i look at the console (dof than Tabulato)
shows me always the same values, though i changed the values in the RageConfig and in
the default.cfg ! And i write protected the configs to.....no chance everytime the same !!

These values are shown in the console (EveryTime !despite change)
