@pbmax - I don't know, maybe just i am used to like the textures high quality from closer range look, not from far, that i don't care so much, but even in an old game like Far Cry or Doom 3, the textures look better from close range and if you mod that games, even can look and play better than RAGE and this is something i not understand from Id, because they always make the best looking games with the best playability as always they say, also, its a new IdTech engine, its 5, so, if in 2004 we had Doom 3 amazing, then this RAGE should be same and just better, with dynamic shadows everywhere, that is something that i like it because make me believe the immersion of the game !

i'm with you 100%. i think they made a mistake.

megaTexture, in theory, can be an amazing tool. but then reality hit (console limitations) and id had to scale it back.

with id's amazing talent and artists, they could have stuck with idTech4 and made an incredible looking game too.

sometimes envelope pushing rendering solutions isn't "the right thing to do".

Yes, exact @pbmax - Id Software can do it better and not listen to the people that never buy Doom 3 or Quake 4 and that said the dynamic shadows are useless, or also, everyone know Doom 3 and Half Life 2 where hug success for many things, for example the moveable objects physics but now all is static like fixed with glue, in a modern game !!! Also this invisible walls, the barrels cannot explode or thrown to the enemies that also not have any big detail, i see the first demos of RAGE much better but then in the real game, they removed the best features that of course this IdTech5 sure have just they not use it and go back to the static shadows and lights from Quake 3 now that we have this new IdTech4 that all people know is all dynamic and real that the immersion is amazing, and they just need to put highres textures everywhere and can amaze everyone and they should listen to the millions of people that buy it Doom 3 and other games and that we want more, new, ok, but not go back with technology, push it to the max. and just make it better, because that dynamic shadows can be made more realistic and the lights the same, go beyond Sikkpin shaders, go beyond IdTech4, not go back !

And yes, i am sure, Doom 4 will be the BEST !!!

I mean, you're right. Most console gamers wouldn't know how to pirate... Then again most PC gamers probably wouldn't either believe it or not (especially now with services like steam making PC gaming accessible on a level it never was before). I have a feeling your "most" is different than my "most". My definition of "minority" can still mean "enough" whereas you seem to make it out to be like shooting at a tank with an airsoft rifle.

Quite a few console gamers are "computer literate". Far more than enough to turn heads. This "hurr durr conzl gamrs r dumd" shit is not only getting old, but getting fucking ridiculous. I mean from the outside in, it looks like a joke at first. If non-gamers or console gamers were to look at this forum right now, they'd go "Yeah, poke fun at console guys. They can take it. For fuck's sake, I don't know a single person that BOUGHT MW3 for the 360, yet a lot of them own it.

another little update from me...

just got thru jackel canyon. great level! they nailed the shanty town/kowloon city look perfectly.



i gotta say, after awhile the low res textures don't matter much at all. like all of id's games, i spend just as much time looking around as i do playing the game.

I am not going to spend more time on RAGE, after i finish the game i remove it, i want better keep my hard drive space for better things that such a waste of money for this dull and empty game !

Good. Could you then also stop complaining about it?

@BloodRayne - No, i was look at many videos and interviews and Id Software presented this game as something dynamic, new, highres, moveable, all supposedly like Doom 3, just with the much better ?¿? technology from 2011, but no, still cannot believe John Carmack do something like RAGE, that just make feel RAGE for waste my money on such a bad product !

I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Just repeating the same thing over and over again won't make you come across as any more intelligent or give any more merit to your arguments.
Find something better to do with your time, there are other games.

Besides if you have problems with the product go to your local store or retailer where you bought it, this is the wrong place to complain about getting your money back.
Noone from ID goes here, noone will listen and certainly most of us aren't interested in hearing again and again how much you dislike the game, just get over it or go somewhere else to complain.

Come on, there are many computer literate console gamers. I used to work for a web hosting and software development company and half of the staff had PS3s. I'm sure they could pirate a game should they wish to. There are also some less-than-smart PC gamers pirating games - it's hardly difficult and I bet there are plenty of friends that can and will help.

I'm an ex-PC gamer. Can't justify the expense to keep up with it and my PS3 feeds my gaming needs just fine. I'm sick of hearing generalisations from the PC-elite. The only thing I really miss about PC gaming is the ability to mod (mapping and coding) and the mouse and keyboard for FPS, but these things are possible on consoles (the latter at least has been done on PS3).

Pirating games on the PC is also easier than doing it on the consoles - no modifications to hardware (or extra hardware) are required. I think if I were to pirate a game on the PS3, I'd need a certain revision of firmware, a special USB dongle and either wouldn't be able to use the Playstation Network or I would be banned very quickly.

i didn't say ALL console gamers are not pc literate enough. i said most.

most people who own an xbox wouldn't have a clue on how to torrent and patch a pirated game. the average console owner probably doesn't even know what "torrent" is.

in our circle of friends, sure, just about everyone knows how to torrent something. but not the average console user.
