Essential Tutorials regarding sripting, guis, particles, cameras...
Please, read them before you try to script something in Doom3!
Mind you that these tutorials are not only informative, they're also crucial to learn the language and methods of Doom3 scripting.

Edit by zeh: reorganized stuff a little bit, and added URLs on the text to make for easier copy&paste. Also (1), keep in mind those tutorials are done by different people, so several of them might cover the same stuff in different levels. Also (2), remember there's much much much much more that is also covered on normal threads (non-tutorials), so do a forum search if you don't see something you need in the tutorial listing.

I assume most of these would be updated/replaced as soon as we get the game in our hands.

Also will the database get updated I hope?

I will definitely be updating the particle tutorials, and writing at least one more. Although, due to time constraints I may not be able to do so until after quakecon. I'm also going to try to learn GUIs by about the same time (or at least enough to do a writeup that'll complement Rich's if noone else does so by then).

Sweet tutorials. Very helpful to someone totally new to scripting.

Though, one though sticks out in my mind: can I use variables in GUI scripts? For example, if I wanted to have a .txt file with a bunch of words in it and have a gui to scroll it and read it, could I have a set of page numbers (i.e. page 2 of 3) or is this something that should be handled by the PDA?

Ok i would just like to know what values do i have to change in the def. file and in the script file, do i have to change anything else? So that i could change the shotgun spread and to have it to reload just one shell at a time.

I've already tried changing the def. file and i changed the spread value to 10. But nothing happened. I also changed some values in the script file.

Anyway is there anything im missing :?:

Apparently you're missing the title of this thread. You're question warrents a thread of it's own.
