I wanna see if I can half recreate some of the HL2 levels in the Doom3 engine. I won't release them or anything but I thought it'd be an interesting experiment to compare the two engines.

Just one problem, I can't find where the textures are stored. I've got Hammer working with textures but I don't know where the textures have come from.

Anyone got an idea?

No idea, but why don't you rather try to recreate the D3's dynamic lighting in the Source engine :D

Textures are stored in the gcf files found under the /root of you account.
Use GCFscape to extract the source materials to where you want it. http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Nemesis

hey,
i have a problem with GCFScape. when i want to open the source material in the folder steamapps, GCFScape say:
_____________________________________________________________

could not open:
C:\programfiles\steam\steamapps\sourcematerial.gcf

error:
failed to map GCF file to memory.

make sure the file is not already open and that steam is not running.
